What does a Freelance Graphic Designer do
A Freelance Graphic Designer is ready to leverage their creative design skills and savvy production experience to help accelerate our team and clients. You’ll be involved in conception and execution of client work, supporting the team along the way.

FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER KEY ROLE:
- Plan, analyze and create visual solutions to communications problems. Find the most effective way to share the client’s message in a variety of mediums.
- Research photographs, typography, colors, artwork and inspiration for print, web, video and interactive design projects.
- Create dynamic pieces that convey the essence of what the client’s product, service or business stands for. Combine all elements to create a whole piece that is greater than the sum of its parts.
- Possess knowledge of symbols, color theory, meaning and associations, and message conveyed by typography, colors, textures, structures, etc.
- Collaborate with team members at all levels as needed to develop project objectives, workflow, milestones and gather content as needed for production of creative.
- Possess working knowledge of paper and paper trends. Provide knowledge of a variety of production solutions and materials; conduct research as required by team members to find viable, creative solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stay informed of client industries – trends and technologies.
- Create die lines and mock-ups for 3 dimensional pieces.
- Create client presentation decks.
- Support the team’s efforts with vendors as required or necessary.
- On-site and off-site visits to vendor locations, press checks, photo / video shoots, or meetings as approved by Creative Director may be required.
- Ability to respond to email requests directly from vendors, clients and coworkers: execute, or delegate and follow up on all assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
- Four year related degree and a minimum of 1 year design experience in an in-house creative department or design studio.
- Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Big egos need not apply.
- Proficient knowledge in graphic production process.
- Work well with tight deadlines in a team environment.
- Able to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
- Adaptable and quick learner.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Possess strong conceptual skills, high level sense of design, layout and typography, a broad thinker who is able to offer a variety of design solutions.
- Candidates local to Savannah preferred.
